Every definition and lap time is cross-checked against official sporting regulations and timing APIs.
- 1. Definitions checked against FIA regulations Technical definitions are written from the FIA Sporting and Technical Regulations, not secondhand articles, then revisited whenever the rulebook changes.
- 2. Real-time session data collection OpenF1 and Jolpica provide the lap times and grid classifications we normalize automatically for each session.
- 3. Lap-time integrity checks Only valid laps make the cut: we compare all three sector totals and filter out pit-out laps before calculating results.
- 4. 48-hour review window for steward decisions We allow a 48-hour review window so post-race penalties and steward decisions can settle before a classification is treated as final.
- 5. Every sync is logged and reviewable Each automated collection run records which session was read, from which API, and how many rows were saved, skipped, or failed. When a number on the site looks wrong, we can trace it back to the run that produced it.
